Which turbo is better?
Which turbo is better?
The GT Turbo... GT35r, GT42r, etc... Mainly the GT60r
Or the Precision Turbo. T76GTS-H
Which turbo is better for a... not daily driven car but driven a lot. Looking for good good power on Pumpgas. 600+whp and hopefully well over 800whp on racegas.
I have read a bunch on that T76. People love it! But why not the GT60r?

Re: Which turbo is better?
Size. The GT60r is a huge turbo.
Most compare the GT42 to the T76GTS. The GT42 has a larger exhaust side and is physically larger than the 76GTS. Due to the 74 mm compressor side of the 42, it won't support as much power either. However, upgrade the GT42 to a 76mm compressor wheel and you get the best of both worlds.

That sounds like a good idea to me as long as it's cost effective! I just want 650whp (give or take) on pump gas and well over 800whp on C16.
Assuming that can even be done on a stock PCM

GT-42 80T
Thats what I want! :-)
That's physically bigger then a T76? I wonder how much bigger either are compared to a GT35r. My friend just got one and it's quite large as well.

For instance, in axial length, the T76 is 8.75" long. The standard GT42 is 11.3" long. The diameter of the T76 compressor housing is 8.25", while the GT42 is ~11". The GT35 is smaller than both, at about 8.5" long and 7.5" dia.

Why is it that you want that turbo when a T76 GTS will easily accomplish your goals, and is easier to package?

Re: Which turbo is better?
I think you're going to find it significantly more challenging to fit a GT42 than a T76. My T-76 barely fits - another 1/2" in diameter and it would hit. Add 2" in every direction and it won't fit many places.

So you really think you're going to be making more power than a 76GTS can support?? Come on man, be realistic. Everybody has that pipe dream, and 99% of those people never get anywhere near there. When you get to 950rwhp and it isnt enough, you can call me a liar.

I basically want a mid 140s trapping car to drive on the street. The faster the better after that point but I want at least that. Don't think i'll be hitting on that on the street. haha But I do drive it a lot.
