tubing for headers

i've been looking for some tubing to make headers in mild steel about 1/8 inch thick in 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 od .would anyone know were i can get this?

why would you want it thats thick? 16 gauge is plenty

i figured thicker pipes would be more durable than thin mild steel tubes.

Like the other guys say, you don't want to build 1/8" thick headers. Those would be awfully heavy (although easier to mig weld if that is what you are going to do). 16 gauge is beefy enough, then have them coated to make them last, or make them out of stainless to begin with.

i have made 16 gauge tube headers that did come out ok, but i didn't like the bends where the tubing came out a little thin from the bending of the material.

So you are saying that if you cut into the bends, they are too thin to work with in that area? I can understand that. Good luck with them. They will be structural strength.
