well, got the car to the track last night finally for some new numbers but unfortunatly only got 1 pass in. spun badly off the line, had to lift and went 10.8 @130. 60' was a 1.9 but when i let off at the end of the track it held 1800rpm's and would not come down. IAC went to zero so i swapped another spare one i had in and no change. all hoses and fittings were ok and not blown off so i am guessing a intake manifold has poped out. i tried the carb cleaner trick to find a leak but could not notice any from that. there is some oil inside the intake though so maybe it blew it down at the bottom. the only other thing i noticed on the log was that after 100% throttle from when the run ended the throttle held at 1% until i shut the car off. but it has not done it again. i have checked the blades and they do not seem to be sticking and i had a spare tps so i threw it in and no change. does ths sound like an intake leak? what had me confused was the a/f does not seem to be lean with the high idle like i thought it was supposed to be with an intake leak.

got back to the track tonight for some more tnt and they are filming 5 episodes of the 'pass time' show on speed (same people from pinks). i only got two runs in and didnt get in on the filming but they will be there again tommarow night so i will try again. anyway fisrt run i had traction issues again and had to lift but went 10.6 @135 with a 1.8 60 ft. the second run it hooked a lot better and got a 10.1 @128.9 my 60 ft on this run was still only a 1.71 but it sure felt a lot faster than that. close to the end of this pass the car popped and lost power very similar to when the cold pipe pops off. i am guessing that is where some of the mph went on that run. also these numbers are on a 10-bolt rear. so far it has not made a sound. (knock on wood)
Great work man! I had that same problem with my throttle sticking 1% open. Turns out the throttle cable connection on the butterfly "shaft" was not solid. It would wiggle forward or backward without the blades opening. I welded the shaft to the throttle cable connection and never had that problem again. This is on an edelbrock 52mm
thanks, yeah i will keep a look out for the throttle cable too and mine is a bbk/edelbrock also and 58mm. and i found out i had thrown the blower belt at the end of that last run. it was dark and late last nite so i didnt check around it much until this morning.
