Thinking about FI for the LT1

I'm in the process of fixing up my beloved 94 LT1, and I was thinking of putting some type of FI on it. So the question is if you had about 5k to throw at the engine what turbo/blower would you throw on it? Thanks in advance LT1 gurus!

Ummmm, with an 11.5:1 compression ratio I would have to say nitrous would be a much safer bet.

If you do decide to go forced induction then you better add $500-1000 for a new set of pistons.

Best bang for the buck! I think an F1 is 5800 alone?

Thanks guys. I agree to figure out what you are gonna do with your compression.

Also... if $5k is the max budget, it may be tough as you need big injectors, tune, possibly alky kit.

I can get you into a Budget Kit for $4250 + shipping (complete turbo kit with a T76)... should leave enough money for injectors and a tune.

You can also look into a non IC'd P1SC or V1 supercharger for $5k.

^^ Good work or for the best bang for the buck build it yourself.
700# tq on about $1000? Yes please.
(disclaimer - Talking about my hot/cold/turbo only - My standalone, ignition, and shortblock would add another 1k or so)

Not sure where everybody is getting their superchargers from. But you should give Lonnie at Lonnies performance a call if you want a good price on a supercharger kit tailored for your specific needs. Exotic Performance Plus also has exceptional prices on superchargers and kits. Used supercharger kits can be had for cheap in the For Sale section.

First off thanks for all the quick replys! Secondly if you will look at my sig again you will notice that the car in my sig is an LS1 not an LT1. My post is about my LT1 which only has a "hotcam" and gears.

As for my goals I don't want much just around 400rwhp or so nothing drastic, the engine is out of the car so going to a dished piston would be no problem, and if I need to buy injectors fuel pump or w/e thats not a problem. I was just hoping the system itself would be around 5k

I can set you up with a few different options for under $5k... complete kits ready to bolt in. You keeping A/C or deleting it? Shoot me an email if you want (jon@lt1boost.net)

Sounds like a t70 budget kit might be perfect for you then. Still some room to grow but almost instant spool.

RQ can hook you up.
