I think fit and finish is the biggest issue for me. Quality welds, ease of maintenance, and heat control. If I bought a kit I would definitely get it coated. I wouldn't even consider giving up my AC. I think your log kit with a TC76 is your best kit.

Now this is consistent with several other accounts I've heard about them. Thanks for the heads up! I did drive over there about two weeks ago after reading some bad press about Howard and his attitude towards LT1's. When I pulled up to his shop, he walked out. Looked at my FMIC and smirked, then walked around his parking lot. After casually looking at a couple of cars on the lot, he walked right past me(I was out of my car standing there) and went back into his shop, closing the door.

No reply yet. He's (Kevin) notoriously hard to get hold of. He's a professor of Automotive Technology at a local college and a parent of a very young child besides the Extreme Automotive endeavors so his phone/email time is slight.
Kevins email is extremeautomotiv@aol.com . I've left both phone and emails for him. I'm trying to locate the other guys email (Adam?) and will pester him as well

Yes I did. I still want to do the turbo eventually, but for now I'm going to fix the bad cylinder and toss the T trim on the car. I'm in the middle of too many projects right now anyhow. Maybe when tax time rolls around.

Jon, got in contact with the guy with the LT1 flanges. He typed...
I have read through your emails and I have attached a picture of our D-port flanges. The ports are oversized enough to allow 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" tubing, depending on your preference, to pass through and be fully shaped to the flange.

The flanges do have a tendency to warp a little while being laser cut, welded to, heated, shaped, etc. So, the tightening sequence is important to get the flange to lay flat to the header. Basically tighten the header bolts from the inside and work outwards, alternating from left to right then back to center, etc. Sort of like lug nuts.

We have both mild steel 3/8" thick flanges or 304 stainless steel 5/16" flanges.

Those are them. I build mine while the flanges are clamped down to a 1" thick piece of aluminum bar You gonna make a new kit?

What could you make for me? I'd still keep the T76, A/C, etc. What could you enhance?

Nothing really for the log manifold... but I could do you up a header setup that keeps everything. If you want to build one it wouldn't hurt my feelings, I was just interested in what you were up to

Yes this is true... He is a real dick. I was just there also as I am just finishing my turbo LT1 build. I brought him my Accel gen 7 system for a base tune That he said he could do. I called him at least 15 times and left a massage and he never once called me back, This is over a 7 week period. I just drove there last week and picked it up, he said he couldnt figure out how to power it up and didnt really have time. So I lost 7 weeks time on finishing. So I just sent my gen 7 to second street performance in P.A I dont know much about them but he is a dealer for accel/dfi. Dave if you find a good tuner around here let me know, Iam in Lake George N,Y Thanks

RealQuick , I voted no on the twin kit. I dont think enough people will pay that much. I say go with a Big single with the quick spool valve. I want to try this for my self next year. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/forced...ke-graphs.html

I voted no. Everybody wants a turbo, but nobody wants to pay for one (let alone 2).

I was inquiring about this very same setup for my TC76/TC78. Forced Inductions.com has a divided housing available so we can utilize the 'Quick Spool' valve but it seems difficult actually get the valve itself. FI.Com said they're working on getting some produced but at this time, they are near one offs. One guy said he found a guy that made (or had produced) a limited quantity but he got screwed on the deal. I'm not exactly sure how but I *think* that a bunch of guys said, "Hey! Put me down for one!!!" but when the guy paid out of pocket for this group of them to be made, all the guys that said they wanted one(or a majority of them anyway) backed out. They weren't cheap either. Made out of Stainless, they cost about $200 each.
I'll keep hoping they'll make some. It sounds bad ***!
