Lightbulb T-70 on a 355 ???

How much power would you expect from a 9 to 1 355, ported TFS heads, 226 @ .050 106icl 114 ls 512lift cam. Were would my peek power be with this cam?
Turbo would be a T-70 with a .96 a/r P trim.
What rpm would i get into boost about?
What about using a smaller a/r to make it less lagey?
I want to go 10s om pump gas in a 3400lb car

thanks

Thumbs up

Nice setup there!

I can't answer your horsepower questions, but here's my 2 cents worth. Do you have an auto? High stalls will make lag almost go away completely. And timing/fuel curves are VERY important with turbos because you need to manipulate the EGTs; going a little lean on the bottom end will help you spool faster because it raises EGTs. You may want to think about using either alky or propane injection to let you run more timing and boost with pump gas.

Just for comarison's sake: The difference in the street chips and race chip I have for the GN is night and day when it comes to spool-up time and top-end pull because of the timing (even at the same levels of boost). I use alky injection to reach 25psi with the street chip(18 degree) on pump, but the race chip has 32* and race gas is needed. And it is a totally different animal at all levels of boost.

After talking with some of the chip tuners for turbo buicks, a rule of thumb when tuning a turbo car is to have an EGT gauge and manipulate the timing and fuel curves to produce 1600* EGTs at all boost/rpm ranges. This generally gives us the 780-800 O2 millivolt readings we like. But every engine is different though, the LT1 may need a different range of EGTs than the LC2 since it has aluminum heads. Hope this helps.

[EDIT] BTW, I was running mid 11s with a stock long block V6 and race chip/gas at 25psi (tranny took a dump on me). And the Buicks are heavy suckers!!! 10s with 93 pump on your setup should be a piece of cake if you go with either of the supplemental injections I mentioned above.

Thanks for the info I should have given more info I'm going to run a blowe through carb set up. I have a 3000 10" race converter and race preped th400, but might swich to a 2200-2500converter to help in town fuel economy. I'm thinking of running about 3.25 gears (9") with a 28" tire.We also have 94 pump gas up hear which makes it a little ezer My car is a 81 Malibu

Ohhh ok, still a damn cool setup! An EGT gauge will still help tremendously in tuning a carbed setup though since EGTs are what tell you what your car is REALLY doing. Rich or someone will have to chime in as I'm not too familiar with boosting chevy V8s.

Also can i get away with using a delta gate or do i need a race gate? ,
- do i need a 360* thrust bushing?
-what egt gage should i go with, dial or dig.

i think that a t-70 should be good for an auto or a stick. i am running a t-68 on a 3.4L and it spools just fine. i would also go with a racegate and a digital egt. the boost control you will get and the accuracy of the digital gauge will be worth the money.good luck
