which supercharger comp. cam works best for mainly street, some strip

I see CMortsports is having there special packages going on right now, and it looks much better than the hotcam kit I intended on, since I eventually want to run either nitrous or a high psi blower. So I am wondering which cam is going to work best for the street when I'm not pushing any nitrous. I see they have many choices, I know how the natural aspired cams run, but with the 114-115 LSA I'm not sure how power is going to be. I plan on very mildly ported heads, and I do want to retain a good powerband with lots of torque so its fun to drive at all speeds. Here is the website with their cam selection. http://www.cmotorsports.com/lt1customcamshafts.htm

I talked to Seth at Combination motorsports and he suggested I go with a 224/236 on a 113 ls since I am running an F1 with my setup.

That would have too much overlap for a blower cam, IMHO.

Hey there Rich. That cam has worked out great for us in larger blower cars, we've got in cars making 630+rwhp with LT1 heads and D-1's. But you're right it would have too much overlap for most setups with smaller blowers. However, with his large F-1 blower, overlap is not an issue like it can be with a smaller where the blower would have to work too hard to fill the cylinder if some of the boost was lost out of the exhaust. What we've found through extensive research is that when the blower is capable (if I remeber right, he's only running 14ish psi) of greatly outflowing the desired horsepower level, having a little more overlap helps increase overall power output. We've gone back to back with a 115lsa and a 113lsa in the same car, powered by an F1-R, and were impressed with the results.

Your car is quite impressive by the way. That's some sick power

That's an intersting thought. Thanks for the insight. Not to beat a dead horse, but to really analyze this you would need to consider compression, head flow, etc. But like I said, that's valuable data.

Thanks.
