Suggestions on bottom end rebuild

Guys... after my head and cam swap the LT1 went boom!!!! With my luck I cam across a good deal on a ATI D1 Procharger and debating wether or not to go down the blown 383 route.

I need some suggestions on the bottom end and the supporting parts. IE: fuel, ignition, and programing set ups.

I am currently running the LE2 heads with a CC 236/242 110lsa, long tubes, MSD ignition, walbro 255lph pump, E-WP, centerforce clutch, CC 1.6 RRs & pushrods.

I went the cheaper route and rebuilt my stock rods and crankshaft using ARP bolts. I put in forged TRW blower -20 dish pistons. I think 355 is the way to go for a blown engine because you can rev it high enough to get max power out of your blower. From everything i've read it seems the best way to spend money is on the top end.

I think you'd have to go the blown 383 route, or you'll have to change your name.

If you don't want that D1, I'll take it off your hands. I don't think I'll be able to go the turbo route anymore.

I've been to Combination before when I picked up parts for my last cam swap. Great group of guys! I still want a local engine builder... like within a 50 mile radius from Los Angeles.

Snorkle Face - If I get in too deep with the blower and get in over my head you've got dibs on the blower. What happened with the turbo route?

Make sure you get pics of that air/water intercooled set up I would love to see it! I would eventually like to go with a front mounted intercooler set up.

Maybe I'll go "help" you install it, and we'll decide it's just too difficult.

I was having this new motor built to go with a STS setup, but after seeing installed pics, I believe the system will be too low. I'm already lowered 1 3/4", and will probably be down to 2" after installing one of Jason's coilover setups. I wish I could figure out a way to make it work. If I had a stick, I would just go SC, but I already spent $2k on this new transmission.

I guess you would have to wait for one of GMR's header mounted turbos to come out. Then we'll see whats up. Keep me posted. Speaking of which do you have AIM or yahoo messenger?

I hope I do find a turbo kit that will work for me as I am having the cam ground for a turbo, so I will be giving up a lot of power until one is installed. i just don't want to install two cams. Their basic street kit would be perfect for me as even though the bottom end is forged, I'll still have a 10.8:1 CR. All I could do is 8# max with an intercooler.

I'm worried that the turbo will mount high though, as the will bring on a lot of heat. I guess we'll see soon.
