Yeah, it's been hashed over before. A lot of guys say that you will be hard pressed to ever find an engine failure due to the fact that the block was only a 2 bolt, not a 4 bolt. I am doing mine splayed because I want the added security or piece of mind but it is not necessary. A lot of guys build them with 2 bolt and studds with no problems at all. A friend of mine had a 355 LT1 with a Vortech and 10 PSI that was at 574 RWHP and it was only a 2 bolt block, it has lasted. Do a search and you will find many threads on this with a lot of good info.
