I would love to see the heat readings of this turbo system right before the turbo at the end of the car. Thats the main reason why the system has so much lag.

BTW on a PTK system, the temp at the #5 cyl at WOT is 1400, right after the turbo which is at the end of the header under the hood, the temp has already dropped to 1000.

email from rick at STS
The 93 Turbo Camaro went 600 rwhp and 637 rwtq at 12 psi today. Dyno graphs
will be posted on the site next week. Stock LT1 kit with GT67 turbo upgrade
and .96 A/R housing.

Later, Rick @ STS
600rwhp/637rwtq=pipe dream

Maybe all of us hot rodders should have stuck with a straight four with side draft carbs.

Thinking outside of the box involves thinking after all, and it appears that most here aren't so good at that.

god i just feel like deleting this thread.

is it me or is this product recieved the most scrutinizing on this board. when it came out people wanted dyno sheets now that thats out people want quarter mile videos. there are a few guys on here and ls1 tech with this kit, they seem to like em. the owners should be one that complain about lag yet its the skeptics who havent even been in one of these cars.

350ci of engine does not mean 350ci of air, you do know that right? It's not the air going out the heads that are pressurizing the intake. So really, there is no math involved in calculating the lag, just logic. I do agree that 8' of piping isn't going to take long to build pressure though. But that still does not mean it's gonna have lots more lag than a conventional turbo setup. The lag is gonna come from the cooled exhaust gasses more than anything else, that 8' of piping is just gonna slow it down that much more

but dynojets do, you know like the DYNO-graphs he mentioned?

as far as 'lag', READ: Porsche 911 turbo. which would probably get smoked by this car 15 dyno pulls ago.

also...a turbine not driven by a belt? That can't possibly work either

Dont bring the high end porsche's into this. Just dont. Lets keep this on topic and not bring up another can of worms. Besides the 911 and Ls1 are different cars meant to do different things - power isnt everything...

i'm trying to explain what is being called "lag" is also called Phenomenal by Corky bell.

by that same logic n/a ls1s are the laggiest..i mean look he's making over 300hp around 3000rpms, some stockers engines don't even make 300whp.

i mean yeah it sucks to have paid more, and now a new company comes along with a easier way to turbo these cars...a mor eRELAIBLE way, nobody has quit on these or returned it, unlike Incon, CAS, QMP ect ect one guy blew 40k oh his...

oh it's not as good as a conventional turbo, no ****, a supercharger or n20 aren't either.

They have a bunch more on their site. These are dyno graphs from a Dynojet dyno (pretty much an industry standard). STS doesn't own the dyno it is owned by Phantom Motorsports in Salt Lake City.

I have seen their cars dyno and they are ungodly. What would I be comparing them to??? How about a 98 Formula with an Incon twin setup. Or various sc LT1 and LS1 cars. Or how about a 505 Chrysler big block. Or maybe a 496 ferst gen Camaro. I have seen plenty of cars on the dyno and few were as impressive as the STS cars.

I am a serious drag racer, so I believe also in the need for some track time with these cars. Why don't they have alot of track numbers yet? Well for one, they don't have cars that are caged with the necessary suspension work. With 600+hp/tq on tap they would get booted off the track in a single run. That isn't enough to be able to learn how to get the most out of the car.

Will they get track numbers? I am sure they will, eventually. Will that please any of the criers and doubters? Nope! You see, those people will still be pissed off that they spent way too much on their FI and didn't get to the 600/600 mark.

This is a concept that you either get/love or dis/hate.
