Really not a whole lot to that.

What size turbo is that?

There really isn't a whole lot to that. Some things to note: $3500 does seem like a bit too much more like 2500, there needs to be a muffler, and the wastegate needs to be vented through it, not to atmosphere. Hopefully you'll sort that out, if it is truly meant to be a "street kit"

um.. why does there need to be a muffler? with that small of a turbo.. i bet its pretty quiet with out one. maybe for the 'older' crowd you could toss ona bullet?
Also, with the wastegate all the way back there.. venting it to atmosphere seems fine..

What is the price gonna be? or is it not set yet?

There needs to be a muffler for those who want to be technically legal. People in the northeast have stricter emissions than Tx. A post on another board said it was $3500, with the test units going for $2300. Maybe that has changed though.

I agree with sleepbyu.
Otherwise, its fairly clean and a different spin on things. If it works... why not?? hehe

Keep us posted.

per rick at STS:
"This is a prototype kit and not the pre-release or the production kit as they are powdercoated a cool bonded chrome color (looks like polished aluminum). This gives good overview of how the kit installs and locations of components. You can see that it is extremely clean under the hood. The only thing not shown is the tail pipe extension. "

it looks like welding on a bullet muffler would be very easy, so that really isnt an issue.

my questions is: what type of fuel upgrades are offered with the kit, because we all know that if youre making any decent power, you need fuel.

also id like to see it installed with aftermarket headers.

also, just a thought...............here in florida we obviously have a lot of rain.

id feel uneasy about having the air filter open like that.

i think a metal protective shell, kinda like a half clamshell, could easily be attached to cover the bottom half of the filter. that would stop and debri or water from flying up and into the filter or damaging it, and it if done properly wouldnt affect the flow. you could drill a small drain hole in the bottom of it also, in case water splashed into it.

personally, i'd like to hear about the lag. As someone else has mentioned, with that much intake piping and the large distance the exhaust has to travel to reach the turbo, i'd assume the lag would be much greater than all other kits.

opinions?

also, how are you getting the oil back from the turbo? Most setups use a gravity feed but obviously the turbo is placed lower than the engine, making that option not possible. Do you have in inline pump?

i might be wrong, but if you get out a tape measure, and measure how much piping goes into a good front mount intercooler setup, and then measure how is used in this kit, im pretty sure its not much more, maybe a foot or two. also there is no pressure drop from a typical intercooler.

it just looks like more because its laid out straight.

just my guess.

i asked about that in the other thread, there is supposedly a small pump on the return line.

Thumbs up

Looks like a neat concept. How hot does the fuel tank get?
