STS turbo
I have discovered that running boost on a stock engine even if its low boost will result in getting a new engine after a while. I first put the STS on my 80,000 mile engine. At 5lb I had about 350hp to the rear wheels. It had a safe tune meaning that I could have ran more boost to get more RWHP but decided that I had had enough. After about a year and a half I had blow by which resulted in low compression on 2 of the pistons.
I now have a fully forged 383 still using the STS with a T67 Turbo. Just brought it the Dyno last week and running 421RWHP/480TQ at 6.5lb of boost. This new engine has been in a year and running strong. I still have more upgrades to do like a rear end before I turn up the boost. The new engine is built to go up to about 16lb so I figure 10 should be my limit and put me over 500RWHP. The key to everything is having a good tune. I am not saying the STS is the best solution but I like it.
