Try the Forced Induction forum, and search for "STS".

Re: STS turbo

Call F-body Central in Baltimore, MD 410-242-0404 ask for Jason (owner). They've installed several and I've seen dyno #s in the 460rwhp range. Not much into turbos unless they're in a Buick, though. I have not seen any at the track...

Re: STS turbo

Only issues I have is they do at best 8 psi with meth injection..... it gives decent power for people who dont want it too wild, but for me its too mild.

Is that with the base turbo or the upgrade?

Re: STS turbo

Look below and you will see my numbers. It has a safe tune and still running after almoset 2 years. Having a full Forged 383 engine built at this time with upgrading to a GT-67 turbo. Damit, got bit by the speed bug.

You can run 13-15psi with rear mount turbo if motor was capable, but if it were me I'd opt for atleast the T67...

Need I remind you of the 700rwhp sts car i rode in ... They can be wild.

Because LT1 motors have in the neighborhood of 10.5 to 1 compression really limits how much boost you can run. If you want to run high boost and you are building a motor, you'll want a lot lower compression...how low depends on how much boost you want.
I hear you can get away with a bit more boost with an STS because its rear mount gives it more time for the charged air to cool and the fact there may be some more pressure drop after traveling the distance back to the front although some say its no more than a front mount...but with a front mount IC you should be able to run more boost as well...kind of depends on where you are measuring the boost pressure....

Re: STS turbo

So the high boost problem isn't the STS fault but high compression. I want to hear more about the 700 rwhp sts RealQuick.

Re: STS turbo

I dont like the idea of sticking a $2-3k turbo system under the rear of my car where it could get stolen while I sleep.. thats just me. If it werent for that seemingly major flaw(IMO) then it would be an awesome idea.

Re: STS turbo

whats the difference between a turbo being under the rear and under the front? If someone wants it they will get it...a hood will not stop them.

I guess the STS is easily visable and you wouldn't have to break the window or destroy the hood to get to it. A guy could easily lay under the car and yank it off.

Do a search pon ls1tech.com for the username "purevil". He has the sts kit with the 70mm turbo and made some good numbers:

He made 630rwhp @ 10psi and 700rwhp @ 14psi
