I have fought the good fight in proving my own setup but I know when to shut the f@ck up And your correct the 14psi was over 700 but was aborted when the head gasket let go

Mike, I'm curious about your headgasket problem. My customer that made over 700rwhp with his STS setup is now on his 2nd headgasket. I was thinking it was the piping is to restrictive causing the backpressure #'s to rise to over 4:1. I haven't proved it yet since I don't have his car here to do that with. He thinks its a limitation of the motor, but I assured him their are other LS1's making well over 700rwhp reliably. Are you still using the factory STS piping??

Most of it is factory, the intercooling piping was our own. all 3" I believe. I think there was just too much heat going on and the heads were warping. I also popped out a coolant plug on a wot run which was abit strange too. The first time we had too much timing for sure but it was backed down to 14-15 on the 14 psi run and we still had issues. ITs been fine ever since we re gasketed it and tq the studs to 80....so far. But I think you maybe on to something in your findings as well.

Yeah on his car he had to back the timing way down to keep it alive at the higher boost levels, but its costing him HP, though the turbo spools faster and the headers glow like candles..hehe

I have looked into EGTs which will coincide with the back pressure on the exhaust side, but haven't been able to get a pressure gauge on the exhaust yet. I am running 14psi in the low to mid 20's advance with plenty meth. I would suggest checking into those EGTs to give an idea about cylinder temp, which might help out on the warping problem.
