STS and a muffler....

Is there any way that you can have an STS system, plus a muffler to quiet the exhaust down some after the turbo? I love the sound of the boost, but I need the actual exhaust to be as quiet as possible for various reasons. I contacted jlturbo, and they said that you could put a small bullet muffler after it, but it seems that it wouldnt quiet things down as much as I need.
Thanks
Chris

One way you could get more clearance for a muffler is by slightly relocating the turbo forward... say.... 6 or 8 inches in front of the exhaust manifolds on the motor... just a thought

Use a Moroso Spiral flow bullet, they're not a true "bullet and have a spiral chamber inside (hence the name).

5.0, the STS is a rear mount turbo, it goes in place of your catback. How much quieter is the spiral flow muffler?
Thanks

I put one in my I pipe for my exhaust. It is Long tubes with 3 inch y pipe and SLP Dual/Dual. It quieted it down a little more than I wanted.

An LS1 with cats and stock exhaust with the STS is not that loud. Most people who hear my car a surprised how quiet it is. You can do some kind of small, high flow muffler after the turbo.

Re: STS and a muffler....

Actually, theres a funny story behind that. I was going to go to Abeline (sp?) or Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, but then I ended up having a few siezures, so thats all up in the air right now, until they figure out what they are going to do with me. So for the six month siezure free period that I am serving until I can drive again, I am saving up money for some fun toys for the car. So I am trying to figure out a way to keep the car as quiet as possible, for on base purposes. Thanks for the offer, if I do end up heading there, I will deffinately look into it.
