trtturbo, I agree. The STS kit is a good value for the enthusiast who doesn't want to spend alot of time or money and isn't looking for gobs of ungodly turbo power. I, unfortunately for my wallet, am an hp junkie.

well said, and all true

methanol issue aside, I want a kit that spools like a turbo should with 350+ cubic inches. I dont want the boost threshold and lag of a supra.. if I did, I'd go buy a supra.

Re: STS Mag Reviews

I'm with Jose on this. That system is not for serious enthusiasts. Show me anybody making big power with that thing. And who wants to fill the methanol all the time? Just put the bottle on it for a lot cheaper if you're going to go through that all the time. It's cool that there's another option out there, but the Turbo Tech kit was popular for a while until everyone realized how crappy it is. I have a feeling this is going to be the same.

Re: STS Mag Reviews

Actually, a customer has the PTK kit on a bone stock automatic LT1 Z28. The kit with base wastegate spring at 8-9psi on pump gas ,no injection needed, made 454rwhp/567rwtq with a older T66 p-trim. With a 6 speed car it would probably be close to 475-480rwhp and 600rwtq again on pump gas. Now with meth. injection, 500+rwhp should be no problem. The owner has now stepped up to a 383 and T76-GTS, again it will be ran on pump gas and no injection necessary.

I don't see any LT1 Camaro offerings here. Do they even offer a kit?

I'm going to bookmark these, and save your info for later. I'm going to build a nitrous motor with all specs consistent to a turbo motor, except for the pistons. That way, when I can afford to add a turbo system later, I'll pretty much only need some different pistons, maybe a cam, and a tune. I can't yet afford to build an all out motor AND a turbo kit at the same time yet.

There is too much free promotion going on here. There is no free advertising allowed on this site. Not in the signatures, not in a "pm me", zero. If someone is going to use this site to solicit customers, make sales, generate interest, etc. they better be a Supporting Advertiser of this site. Sorry, them's the rules and we gotta be fair to all.

Re: STS Mag Reviews

It seems to me that there are still STS Turbo bashers, the main one is Jose.
Now I don't know Jose but I assume he sells or is involved in selling a turbo system. If Jose could answer me a couple of questions that would be great.
To install one of your systems, what do I need to do to my '02 CE T/A. Move the A/C components, re-locate the battery, and a whole pile of other stuff. To install an intercooler I would need to gut and butcher my front end. What else?
Jose your system may be okay for a guy building a race car, but not for probably 80% of the guys on this list.
To berate a system that is ideal for the majority is counterproductive.
The average guy wants 400-500 RWHP on the street and to maintain his or her car in primarily the original condition.
You may like it or not but the STS system seems to be the only system on the market right now that does just that.
I've had the STS on my car for almost 2 months and I love it. It hasn't been dynoed yet, but I know it'll come in around 425 RWHP @ 5 PSI., plus I have the option of increasing the power when I want(within limits of course)
One of your other comments was that if you want real power you need your style of turbo, well been there done that,I've had my 1100 HP 850 T motor
which was a N/A 548 C.I. Reher Morrison Pontiac headed big block Chev.
in a 62 Vette and it ran 7.6 to 7.8 quarters consistently.
Anyways I digress, point is don't knock a product that works and is extremely easy and clean to install(and to take out in case of warranty issues).

Who said anyone did, and furthermore, what does it matter?

Re: STS Mag Reviews

First, I've known Jason/Chris for a long while, and its their board, so really he doesn't need to explain himself. He sets the rules which I have no problem with. So carry on Jason....

Jeepoo, As for the PTK kit, well I don't build the system, PTK does. I support them cause they built my kit, just like STS built yours so here you are defending the product. The PTK system does not require A/C delete, gutting the car...etc..etc. I think you are thinking about the Turbo Tech race kit which requires deleting some components. PTK's system is a bolt on kit, and will be offered in a tuner version soon. Maybe a PTK vs STS shootout is in order?? Oh and these kits can use any turbo from a dinky T32, all the way to a 1250+hp T88.

Jose
