STS slow spooling

I just got a STS kit install on a friends 99 LS1 and got it tuned. It seem to spool slow doesnt reach full boot untill 4500 5000 in 3rd, and 1st and 2nd barley boosts at all..

Well i took the wastegate off. Its a Tial F38mm. Well the kit he bought was used. Now correct me if i am wrong but isn't there suppose to be some sort of valve seat for the valve on the wastegate. Because there is nothing on this one and it leaks exhaust at idle and i can see rigth past the edge of the valve threw the body housing. I know there is suppose the be a seat in there. This is my first turbo build.

Anyone know where i can get just a valve seat for a Tial F38mm? Or someone have on laying around?

yes there should be a insert

i was looking at a TIAL 38mm sport WG about an hour ago... and it had some red tape to hold the insert, i guess so you dont nmisplace it before you install the WG..

but it should be there.... if not..thats your problem

Its wasn't there. Long gone. It was a used kit, it must not have been in there when he bought it. Oh well, this might sound getto, lol but i used a washer ground down to fix inside and kept make the whole bigger untill the boost leveled out to the spring. I stopped at 7psi, its a 5psi spring. Makes for a good boost controller. lol
