haha gotcha. But yes, like I said before..on a test block..with low power id feel much better blowing..well..not as bad..blowing a 2000$ block..as opposed to a fully built ***** to the walls 355..not to mention people making over 500rw bone stock..and only breaking pistons. I dont see why forged pistons/rods wouldnt be good enough to make all the power you could handle on the street.

I totally agree. It really also comes down to the tuning. The more budget you go, the less margin for error there is with the tuning. But I have also seen "all out forged" set-ups break under enough detonation just like anything else....

That said, stock set-ups can have also been proven to handle a lot with top notch tuning and no detonation

Yeap, I know a guy who had a turbo motor built spent 7k and it blew before the turbo made it to the car. Having the engine built and tuned right are way more important.

I think what he means is leaving in the 2 bolts allows you to keep more material in the block thus making it stronger....thats the first ive heard of it to. Where can you get stronger caps?

Re:

Yeah it kinda makes sense just to replace the stock crank since I already have the engine broke down. I'm just trying to save money cause I'm on a budget. But since I plan on running 15psi I should just replace the crank with a forged one. Cause I would hate to tear it down again if it were to go in the future. - Mike

Well if your on a budget where will this 15psi be coming from? IM guessing a supercharger?? Also, with that amount of boost...the word budget kinda goes out the window...can you give us some specs on what your doing?

The only reason I could see doing it is if you were ruled to do so. Then again, you could always do it for bragging rights.

Yeah I had a sts turbo put on a couple years ago. I already upgraded everything there is such as the rear, fuel, etc, etc. Just not the motor yet. I just basically wanted to know if the stock crank could handle the 15psi. Cause I only plan on running 5psi most of the time and every so often have the high boost on the switch. So it's not like it's always running 15psi. But since I have the engine broke down I should replace everything with forged internals just incase I wanted to run more boost in the future. Which everyone knows you always get used to the power and want to run more in the future.

It's the t-67 upgrade. Supposed to handle up to 750 at the fly. I'm basically just hoping to reach 600rwhp at 15psi. It might even reach that level at 12psi. But yeah if I were to use the stock crank it would not be more then 600rwhp
