Stall coverter

Say guys I was thinking about putting a stall in my 97 since I have to pull the tranny back to put in a new flexplate. It has a procharger on a stock motor with longtubes, exhaust and 58mm tb. What would be a good streetable stall for my car that is reasonably priced. I have a 388 stroker with afr heads for the near future.

Re: Stall coverter

You won't need an insanely large stall for a supercharged street car....I'd say 2800.

A little pet peeve of mine...

It's not a "stall converter". ALL converters have a stall speed.

Also, you don't need a higher stall converter just because you have a powerful engine. In fact, you should use the lowest stall converter that get's the job done for the type of performance you are seeking.

Which is ... what?

Are you trying to tame a big cam or get a better launch at the dragstrip?

Do you understand the tradeoff you will be making in drivability, even with a quality piece from someone like Edge or Vigilante?

That's funny 'cause my Vig 2800 flashes to 5400 rpm.
