SS progress pics

Just thought I would post a few pics of the progress of my car. Basically the same setup, except-

painted engine compartment/undercarriage

rebuilt engine/more head work, replaced rearend

BS3 with staged injection/dual fuel systems

tubular k-member, replaced suspension (mostly with 1LE pieces)

Replaced standard GT61's with ball bearing GT61's.

Re: SS progress pics

Impressive!

I dont think I could ever find the courage to drive a car that nice on the street.

In one of the pics it appears you are running dual fuel rails... is it setup so only 2 are active at part throttle and the 2nd set kicks in at WOT?

Does the AC still work?

Nice to see an opti on an 800+ hp LT1... I never thought the opti was as evil as everybody claimed.

Thanks. I plan to drive the hell out of it (as always).

And yes, with the staged injection and dual fuel systems, it cruises around on the main fuel tank and injectors with 93 octane, when the primary set of injectors reach 80% duty cycle, the second set of injectors are activated which are spraying C16 on top of the primary injectors.

And yes, the A/C, ABS, airbags, power everything, is still functional.

Re: SS progress pics

Man I want a BS3 in my car. So what did you figure out the delay time to be for the alternate fuel system to kick in?. Also, can you post pics of the top of the intake more so it'll show more of the fuel rail. Very interested.

Re: SS progress pics

Those headers are insane! I'd love to see pictures of the passenger side as it comes together with all the accessories, I was skeptic that it could never look *that* good all installed. That's just gorgeous. What are the specs on those?

Dammit beavis, you have too much money. I want some and stuff. GREAT car. Looks like we have a perfectionist in our midst! Did you fab up the intake or did you have it built?? This is what we are all striving for.

Re: SS progress pics

Thanks everyone.

Mean LT1, the fuel pump on the secondary fuel system will always be running, but at reduced voltage from a step down box (which will kick up voltage at 1psi boost). Since pressure will always be in the system, there will be no delay.

I'll get some more pics of the intake, which I got from Rich Groh, and was modified by Motive Motion for the second set of injectors.

Geoff, specs on the headers? They are coated mild steel, 14 gauge, 1 5/8, 3in collector formed to the TO4 flange.

97TA-WS6-Con- Not sure yet what I'm doing. I wish a nice quiet electric vacuum pump was available. At the very least both breathers will be plumbed to a seperate tank(s).

I have an SSBC vacuum pump into a puke tank but I have yet to install it.

It seems a little loud when I run it on the bench but candidly when installed I'll probably never hear it.

Re: SS progress pics

cool. i noticed the 9 inch and the stamped steel rear suspension components. what type of torque arm setup do you use? do you run into traction problems?
