?

Spraying nitrous into the intake tract/ intercooler would make the car dual power adder. I would not even try to run dual power adders this year... But getting back to the topic I am wondering what sort of spray bar would work... Any links to the Subaru STI spray bar? I'm thinking I could make it run off an rpm switch. I could run a 5 lb bike style bottle and then run the line into a spray bar. Sounds pretty easy. Seems that the spray bar would need to be pretty wide otherwise only one part of the 'cooler would be frozen? Other issue I am thinking of is that if the car is moving the C02 might not work at well at speed... wait.

Best thing for me to do is to freeze the intercooler while in the pits, and then maybe right after the burnout? I'd just do a manual switch then.

like sleepy said, NX makes a kit for spraying the intercooler. it comes with spray bar, solenoids, etc.

Check out this setup. CO2 spraybar setup.

I'm new to this, but has anyone used a Water Vapor Injector in the intake track? Essentially, it fogs the intake with water (distilled if you don't want build up on the tip) which removes heat from the intake track like a swamp cooler. It essentially vaporizes near instantly. Can be wired in to the TPS for WOT conditions...

I have this setup on my car right now. I have an SMC Enterprises kit. This kit seems to be a real hit with the turbo reagle crowd. Instead of spraying water Im going to use denatured alcohol. It should work pretty well seeing as its pretty much proven system that works.

See, now that makes sense. How much was the kit? Any difficulties on the install?

One thing that most people fail to realize is that alcohol is an oxygenate. Much like Nitrous, it adds oxygen to the combustion process.

You should check the rules but alcohol may be considered a power adder.

Maybe we should try hydrogen peroxide. It is also an oxygenate, but contains much more oxygen than alcohol. On second thought, Nitrous is the simplest method.

But just for the purposes of cooling the intake charge... this is just a theory... but, wouldn't water be an inexpensive heat-exchanger that wouldn't penalize anyone?

It is inexpensive, the motor can be tied into the TPS for WOT operation, and a fogger that mists water into the intake should make a big difference.

I used to have a Water Vapor Injector on an old 1968 Jaguar that used to detonate due to high compression and the particular design of the engine. It worked very well! Dropped the intake charge temp, each fill up of distilled water lasts a month, and reduced knock. I haven't seen them around in 15 years, but it should work...
