What spark plugs do you run...and what do you gap them at so the spark does not get blown out..

and what kind of boost are you running.....

I run NGK Tr-6's gaped at .32 ........ however I do still have three that are gaped at .40 ..#3 ,#5 and #7.they are a bitch to get to....and I think thats were my high rpm missing problem is coming from.....

NGK BPR11ES gaped to 0.035" (for AFR heads).

15PSI + a small nitrous shot.

It's the wrong size for an LTx casting, I am using AFR's. But the rationale for the plug is that it is very cold - 5 heat ranges colder than the TR-6. Interstingly, I have had no problems with fouling.

I must guess (don't like to assume ) that you are also using one of the ignition boxes too ? MSD , Crane , etc.

I put about 4,000 miles on it last year including stop and go traffic. I was using a Crane box and it crapped out this year, so I am now using an MSD. BTW: I use OEM plug wires! Cheap, they fit right, and I can't say the car is suffering performance wise.

I run Autolite 103's gapped at .035. I run these on AFR heads too.

Rich,

What do you mean your plugs are for AFR heads? I didn't know there was a difference in the plugs from the LTx castings and AFR's. Can you elaborate on this?

The "reach" (length) of the plug is different. The LTx castings usually use a 14mm reach. The AFR heads with large chambers (as I use) use a 3/4" (19mm) reach.

I was using Champion RS12YCs but with the new motor I'm going to RS9s. I ran as much as 21psi before the engine let go but it was fine and dandy with 14psi.
