Quadrajet and blow-through blower

I know you can use the Holley HP series carbs for a blow-through setup, but I'm wondering if you can also use a Quadrajet.

The main considerations would be that the float bowl vents need to be within the bonnet, so that they are boost refenced, and the floats need to be strong enough or solid enough not to "crush" under boost.

Anyone know if a Quadrajet meets those criteria? Thanks!

I would not do it. The secondaries have an air valve which would be blown open as soon as you hit full throttle... making the carb act like a manual secondary carb. But it has no secondary accelerator pump, so this could be a problem as well. Also the venturi (or somewhat a lack of) in the secondaries are somewhat crude.

You should use a carb with equal primary & secondary venturi sizes to ensure equal mixture distribution. A lean cylinder will self destruct in a heartbeat under boost.... not as forgiving as normally aspirated.

I've seen a lot of people damage a lot of parts trying to become a blow through carb expert. Buy a good carb specifically modified for a blow through application (with screw in air bleeds for better high speed tuning) & you will save a lot of money in the long run.

Just trying to save you some grief & cash.
