OK..... finally was able to remove the pulley. It was very difficult I believe due to the fact that the pulley key was no longer there.....

I will need to order a new pulley..... Is there any special pulley key required? or can I pick this up at a local hardware store??

You should be able to pick them up at a hardware store. I've picked some up at Lowes before. They have a couple of sizes also. Try and measure for what size you need, or even better, take that old pulley down there and match a key up with it.
