PTK Install in progress... some questions

Okay, I am working on the install, and have almost everything I need... But, I have a few concerns. The car is a 95 LT1 w/ stock heads, stock bottom end (for now). I have 42lbers, 255lph fp, etc. I have a tune from pcmforless also. Car will be 6psi intercooled.

1-Do I NEED a MSD 6BTM?

2-I am going to run the NGK TR6IX plugs, what should I gap these at?

I have an Innovate LC-1/XD-16 wideband to monitor A/F, and will log pcm.

Any suggestions?

well, you CANNOT gap irridium plugs, run the regular TR6's and gap them at .030
I believe the stock gap is .036 anyways, and with a stock bottom end, youd be fine running the irriudiums where their at.

You do not NEED the the 6BTM, instead you can pull the timing out in your PCM.

I have never been able to get the TR6's to run right... I couldn't even get them to run right with the 50 shot of Nitrous (brand new plugs). Car always ran like crap when the TR6's were in... as soon as I changed to TR6's, the pcm would always pull timing out. The car ran better off of the nitrous, than on it. Fast forward to the NGK TR55IX's... 12.80's no nitrous, car has no hesitation at all. I pulled the plugs out, and they look barely used. I dunno... some people swear by the TR6's... They just made me swear.

I am going to try the TR66IX's. Someone was talking about gapping them, so I will give that a shot. I guess I am going to shoot for .032 and hope for the best.

Why wouldn't you be able to change the gap on the IX's? Not that much different than a regular plug. I am guessing that I need a closer gap if I am not running an aftermarket ignition.

If the tune is on, I guess the only thing I need to worry about is over-revving. From what I understand, the pcm will pull fuel, resulting in a lean condition. Am I correct?

you cannot gap a platinum or iridium plug, it messes up the tip, and they will not work correctly.
