Project BoostedROC....Iroc383LT1 Turbo Build.

Well I have posted on a couple boards and may as well post on here since there are a hand full of LT1 3rd gens on here that are doing a FI setup.

I tore out some parts that were in the way for mock up today. I decided to go back to my old idea since the turbo fits perfect in place!

Well here are some pics before..then the slooooow transition.

Cam (custom still awaiting)
Ported Intake
58mm TB
Double Rollar Timing Chain
Electric Water pump
7.5 Quart Pan

TURBO
Garret/AiResearch TH08A64

Nice! what made you go to putting it on the pass side? I looked long and hard at that and chose the opposite side. there just seemed like there was more room on the driver side to get the cross over and down pipe through... Im intersted to see how yours comes out since It was one of the ways I was planning on doing mine.

Ill have to post up my build thread see who gets done first!

Picked up a griffen 4 core rad today. I couldnt stand tryin to figure out where to mount the turbo and it looking good so the stock rad had to go.

I just took pics of where it will be not any cutting until i know for sure.

Jay

And the 383 LT1 tore down getting ready for my new Comp custom grind to go in .
Also I am repainting the block red, valve covers black, intake red and accessories silver.

Well i started painting some parts. The oil pan still neds to come off so i didnt bother taping it off, since it will be repainted, and the Oil drain needs to be put in.

Tomorrow is cam install and assemble the motor.

Jay

NOTE THE FINS ON THE TOP OF THE INTAKE WILL BE POLISHED SO ITS NOT SO...RED LOL.
