Re: Procharger on stock LT1, worth it ?

I put mine on several years ago, and based on my motor and SC setup, I will say that above anything else you need to insure that the engine is dyno tuned. This is the only way the setup will make good power and be reliable. And as I stated in past posted, I am one of the few people that can say that they have had close to 90,000 miles of running a SC on a stock motor. The only reason why it finally went bad is the diaphram in the FMU went bad and the motor got lean and I cracked #1 & #7 ringlands. Good Luck.

I have 8lb system with intercooler mounted under front end. Did alot of research before I bought.Had my tuning done by PCMforLess mail order and Brian recommended going with 42lb injectors to eliminate FMU and leave some room for future HP.I haven't had it on dyno yet but, also haven't had any problems yet.

Worth it...............hell yes! Just be ready to rebuild. Mine lasted 1 month or a 1000 miles before it cooked 2 pistons.

They #'s are in the sig below on the stock motor. The car now has 8.5:1 comp, and is a beast! The newest #'s are 425rw, 406tq, and that's maxing the fuel system right now.

Boost is addicting!

Re: Procharger on stock LT1, worth it ?

i'm also looking at a supercharger. I would most run a methenal or propane injection to help out on intake temps, but only run 4-6 psi on my engine.

is there anything we can do as far as headgaskets to lower compression a little bit? just a thought

btw, anyone have a used setup for sale under 2 grand? I'm now looking for a good kit to buy.
