Procharger questions

I'm looking at a 600B kit. How much power do these realistically support with 1 intercooler?

IF i decided to upgrade the compressor would I have to change to anthor kit or just anthor head unit?

How are the kits?

Re: Procharger questions

the P600B is good for approx. 750hp depending on the engines base hp rating.

a 2-core 550hp
a 3-core 750hp
a sheetmetal 3-core 1000hp

I'm considering dropping my eaton for a single intercooled kit.. I'm really up in the air but considering i'll go from a 55% eff to a 90 i think it might be worth it.

Re: Procharger questions

The P600B is a bit outdated of a unit. I would consider the P-1SC over the P600B. It's a much newer model and doesn't require you to tap into the oil pan.

The P-1SC and D-1SC share the same bolt pattern and can both be used on the same mounting bracket. I don't think the P600B will be upgradeable without purchasing a whole new mounting bracket. (The D-1, the next line-fed upgrade from the P600B, uses a different bracket if I remember correctly.)

From the look of your sig you're in the neighborhood of being able to use a D-1SC or a D-1 anyway. You might want to consider going with one of those right from the start. The boost curve is a little sharper, with the boost onset being stronger than the P-1SC.

Re: Procharger questions

I ran a p600b with a 12 psi pulley on a 12 rib setup. The shaft key cannot handle the torque. I rolled the key. Then I purchased a D1. Different mount plate and driven shaft (larger). Also tighter fit on a 1997. I removed the 2 core intercooler and run a large spearco. Much less pressure drop. I also made all hardpipe circuit rather than the rubber tube. I purchased the Spearco from E-bay. Very nice for approx $650 US.
