procharger d1sc

I just bought a procharger d1sc for my 96z lt1.
I plan on running about 15lbs of boost if everything goes well.
I got a few questions about the procharger itself if anyone could help.
What size pulley does it come with stock?
Why does everyone talk about the belt slipping?
How can you change the amount of boost? (I'm guessing by pulleys and belts, but how come you can't do it at the surge valve?)
Haven't really messed around with forced induction, I'm new to it.
So any info would help. Thanks.

Depends on the kit. I believe they come with a 4.1" but I don't recall exactly. Your best bet would be to call ATI or a vendor.

The base Procharger mounting system tends to flex a little. Combine that with a non-self adjusting tensioner and belt setup that leaves a large portion of the blower pulley exposed and you can get belt slip at higher loads.

You guessed it. The surge or bypass valve only opens when the manifold sees vacuum. It's designed to keep air from backing up against the impeller when the throttle is suddenly slammed shut (ie. you let off the gas). It doesn't function in the same manner as a waste gate.

I hope you have the car setup to handle it. If not then you're about to get an expensive education.
