Re: procharger

Why did you go with P600B? I also want to get a supercharger (for my street/strip 383cid 210cc AFR heads engine) ,and can't decide with which one should I go: Vortech with aftercooler or ATI Procharger.. If I go with ATI procharger I don't know which type of ATI should I go.. I know P600B is the smallest one.. P1SC or D1SC is bigger ones.. My car isn't a drag car so I don't want to lose drivability..

Re: procharger

A supercharger won't take away driveability anyway. Big or small. That is unless your car was specifically built for it. If it runs good now, a blower won't hurt.

Re: procharger

well i went with the p600b becouse i got a real good deal on it from another board menber i got it for around 2600 and it only has 100 miles on it so i decided to get it. i real like the power it gives the car and other than the wine (which is great) you cant even tell that it is on the car driving around in town. You get a smile from ear to ear when you smash the gas.

hmm so you say if my engine build for supercharger i.e: CR is 9.0:1 camshaft will be 114lsa there will be no drivability problem, even it produce 700bhp ?? I just can't believe a 700hp engine will be drivable..But you say even 14-20psi I will not have a drivability problem if I have a right parts of engine combo for blower?

Re: procharger

i dont know about you setup but i know that the way i have my car built that in town and just driving not getting to the boost that i only have a light hesitation only when i put the car into reverse i dont understand that but it must be somethin to do with other things not the supercharger becouse it is not macking boost in reverse lol. other than that i have no problems with the car and supercharger. i know have to work out some problems with the tranny but i will get it. No i didnt get it dyno yet next month i am taking it out to pcms for less becouse i only live a couple hours from him and he gave me a good deal on getting it dyno tuned.

I estimate oure car to be in the 650-700 range and street maners are perfect, just have to be real carefull whidh the right foot

The biggest problem was oure previous converter that stalled way to high...

Also wery pleased that i installed a 4l80e insted of a th400

I don't care if you are making 30 lbs of boost, boost doesn't determine drivability. Lack of torque and a high powerband makes a car a bit sluggish.

I went to the dyno in April and there was a twin turbo LS1 Vette there making 780 hp at the wheels. He drove it from Maryland to NC and back afterwards. It idled a lot better than some of the cars I have seen making a lot less hp.
