Powerdyne LT1 pulleys: What's unique about them?

I'm planning to install a straight scroll Powerdyne BD-11a in a C4 Corvette.

The blower that I have purchased is likely equipped with an LT1 style 2.93" pulley.

I'm curious as to the differences between the LT1 specific pulleys vs. the universal 6 rib pulleys. I just realized that there was a difference.

Is there a difference in how the belt runs (inside or outside of the belt) or is the pulley offset somehow or a different thickness as compared with the standard pulleys? Perhaps someone can explain.

Hopefully it will still work for my application.

Thanks.

Same here, I have a brand new 2.95 for my s trim that is NOT the LT1 pulley. I was wondering if it would work as well. It looks like the Snout on the non Lt1 pulley (side facing blower) is longer than on the Lt1 pulley. There does appear to be room for this longer snout on the blower shaft though.. I think that this may cause an alignment issue but have been afraid to try it.. lol

Powerdyne is now installed

Here's a few pics of my custom C4 powerdyne installation if anybody is interested:

So far I've got around $900 invested in the project including the blower.

LT1 Crank Pulley Diameter?

The LT1 style 2.93" blower pulley did not present any issues for my custom installation. It seems that the pulley is located closer to the blower than the universal pullies, which required mounting the blower further forward to align the belt.

At present, I'm running an underdrive March crank pulley thats about 5.75" diameter. I'm curious as to how this compares with the crank pulley supplied for the LT1 kits. The blower impeller should be spinning around 36,000 rpm at 6,000 rpm with the current pulleys.

Anyone here know the diameter of the LT1 crank pulley that is supplied with the powerdyne kits?

I also have a larger 7" diameter stock crank pulley that I can use if more boost is desired, but this may force me to limit the engine rpm somewhat to avoid overspinning the impeller.

As in sig, I've got the 4.5# PD kit. My crank pulley is 6" and SC is 3".
BTW, the crank pulley has room on the flat for cutting an additional groove in front and behind the existing 6 grooves. The tension pulley would work on a 7 rib belt without mods ... grind down the flanges and end plate it and 8 ribs would work.
