Just put a 4.5 unit on my 1996 Z. I have a VDO 15 PSI BOOST
Gauge on it.When i Romp on the Gas,it only reads up to 3 PSI....... Is that normal ?? Should the Gauge be reading some kind of Boost during Reg driving ??

 

Thats normal. Maybe your belt is loose (but don't overtighten) or maybe you should take the hard elbow tube off the maf and swap it with the collapsable tube to see more boost.

sounds normal especially if you have better flowing heads or lumpy cam
