Looks great....What are you using for cooling? Water injection? What about a Bypass valve?

Is this gonna be a strip car only or both Street and Strip?
What are your HP goals?

Inquiring Minds want to know

Thx,
Claude

What trim blower is it? We have a D3R and also a D3M. They make some sick power on a BBC. We made 1150hp on the engine dyno with a 512ci. and the D3M last year. The setup is in a 4400lb 1967 Impala and runs 9.60's@142mph with the D3R. The carb acts as an intercooler on these setups so you can get away with 12-14psi w/o detonation as long as you don't have too much compression and have enough fuel which is the hard part with these blowthru carb setups believe me I know. Goodluck tuning one of these badboys is not easy. Later

The motor is a 454 HO Gen V. The Blower is an ATI P1-SC procharger huffing 10 psi. My static compression is 8.75 to 1 with iron heads. I've been running on 93 octane fuel and do not have a boost retard or an intercooler. My current timing in probably way conservative at approximately 26 to 28 deg total. Plugs look slightly rich (which is good for me cause I would rather give up a little bit and keep it running). The carb was a 850 Holley mech. but now has a Proform main body to eliminate the choke tower. Jetting is 84 primary and 95 secondary. Fuel system is an Aeromotive pump and boost referenced reg. with 1/2" supply and 3/8" return lines. TH400 tranny and a Ford 9" rear w/ 3.42 gears. It is definately intended for the street.

Sounds Sweet!!
How much HP are you looking to put down?
And I did not see anything in there about a By Pass Valve....Is there a reason why you are not running one?

Thx,
Claude

Motor was 425hp stock and I was shooting for 625 with the blower. I am not running a bypass valve. What benefits would I see by doing so?

I would assume that the benefits with a bypass valve would be the same for a Fuel Injected Car when let off the loud pedal, the air would vent to atomsphere and not fight against the blower impeller and carb blades/flaps. But Mabee a Blown Carb set up is different.....

Hopefully someone will jump in and shed some light on if its necessary or not with a carb car.

Thx,
Claude
