Doesn't E85 break down the rubber in the fuel system in a car that wasn't designed to run it?

short answer is no. any thing with EFI is fine there is an older fuel line that some carbed cars have that can be damaged. but ic can be replaced and $2.00 a gallon for 105 sweet. my friends using it in his 240sx drift car. hes making just under 400hp on a stock ka24 with a big turbo and hes pulling almost no timing out. you will need about 30% more fuel to make the some power

Sweet looking car! Looks like a nightmare to wrench on though.

I don't really like the E-85 stuff. If your fuel system is meant to take it (as in it won't corrode), then you need to be ready to constantly tune it off the fly as there are different E-85 blends out there that are NOT consistant. It can be done, and some guys like it, but for me there are just too many variables. You can't go wrong with the simplicity of pump gas and meth injection.

BTW, thank you for your service, stay safe out there, and I wish you a safe and speedy trip back home!

Whats your job?

Believe it or not there is actually more room in the Corvette engine bay than I had on the Trans Am. Engine comes out the top in a little over two hours without removing the hood. The down pipe comes off pretty easily and that opens up alot of room for wrenching.

I'm due back from Iraq in March. I'm serving as a helicopter pilot.

The motor that came with the car was a stock lt1 motor with iron lt1 heads and a small blower cam. I'm now in the process of putting a fully forged 355 with AFR heads.

Badass car man! I've always liked C4s

Also, you're flying in Iraq? I'm a contractor working in balad with radar stuff no less! I could probably go look for you right now if I knew your cs, not that I would ask from a forum .

What are you flying? I am currently in pilot training for the Air Force, and a good buddy of mine in my class was a prior Army Blackhawk pilot.

I've flown just about everything from Canadair Regional Jets to Kiowa Warrior Helos. Started flying when I was sixteen and I'm still trying to get it right 25yrs later. LOL Congrats on the flight training.

Flying is the easy part. It's the landings that aren't so easy.
