Re: paxtone supercharger question

id make sure you can get at least brackets for fit your car for the paxton before you buy, or you may be trying to sell that paxton head unit.

i know vortech sells "base kits", which is everything that comes in the kit minus the supercharger. so you could buy a vortech head unit and get the base kit and your good to go. but im not sure about the paxton.

oh yeah, and if youve got a stock motor. dont go very high with the boost. its addictive but a little bit of boost will make you smile...for a little bit at least...

thats what i heard, and yes stock internals, i would like the shat in my pants performance but not at the expense of my TA. i know i could get it to work but i just dont know if i am willing to kill the TA over it, its just so fun to drive.

yeah well it will be even more fun when you get some boost. i didnt expect the power gains that the blower gave me. im getting ready to start slowly building a low compression forged LT-1 so that if/when my stocker goes ill have it all ready to drop in.

Re: paxtone supercharger question

knowing how much more power i got from just the vortech 6psi, i would consider the powerdyne 4.5 psi kit if your looking for just a little kick in the pants (or just a little shot of nitrous). but it will be worthless for anything more than just a little power gain. if your gonna want big power later then dont think about the powerdyne.

oh yeah, id find a way to aftercool/intercool the powerdyne also. it will make a little more power and make it safer for the motor.

Re: paxtone supercharger question

In my own experience I wouldn't waste ANY money on the Powerdyne. I have the 4.5psi kit with ported, milled heads and cam and still cant get over 370rwhp. 3 psi on my gauge and a air intake temp over 230 deg. So increasing boost would also increase heat. Kind of like pissing in the wind. And the Powerdynes don't have enough pressure to push the air through an intercooler to really make any difference especially @ 3psi. Just my $0.02

what internals are u working with stock? how many miles on the clock, what are some of the expenses u are running into with the SC? i just dont want to seize the engine or anything.
