paging rskrause heh

I just wanted your opinion.. ive posted earlier to fuel considerations....Im waiting on parts ...to finish off my car... was curious what fuel pump and injectors you run. I have a 355 ci ati 600b with 2 core intercooler just ordered a 13lb pulley 3 angle valve job on stock heads 1.5 roller rockers..valve train is all comp cams...scat crank eagle rods...do i get rid of the ati supplied fmu and piggyback fuel pump setup? what size injector do i use...im hoping to produce 500 hp at the motor..thank you for your time...also do you have any experience with pcmforless? wanted to get a temporary tune..then send it to a dyno shop etc.

My current fuel system is way more than you would need. I am using two Aeromotive pumps, the second activated only at WOT, alog with custom lines and rails, 90lb injectors and the Acceleronics low impedance converter.

A good setup for what you are building would be the Racetronix twin in-tank system along with 50lb injectors. No personal experience with PCMFL but I am sure they could at least get you up and running. I wouldn't get on it though until the tune was validated/verified with a wideband. A stock regulator might work, but an AFPR could be useful as a tuning tool. No need to do anything about the lines or rails.

So with twins in-tank and AFPR it would suffice and allow you to do away with the FMU?

You cannot use low impedance injectors with the stock PCM (unless you buy the Acceleronics converter). They draw too much current and will quickly burn out the stock injector drivers. So, you need high impedance injectors.

Look around for some 50lb injectors, they really shouldn't be much more expensive than smaller ones, and you will need them.

You will not need an FMU with the 50lb injecotrs and the proper PCM programming.

they really are alot more expensive....i'll look around but they are expensive .....do you think its a good idea to try the ati supplied fuel pump..and stock unit.....and then just try 50 lb injectors...i seriously would be lookin at 600 to 700 bucks just for a set of 50lb plus the racetronix kit...unless someone knows where i can pick up the stuff cheaper...

Just watch the for sale section. There's always someone upgrading their injectors. I got my 83# ers for $300 or so, and sold my 48#'s to someone else for $300.

I wouldn't trust the ATI inline w/ stock intank for anything over 500rwhp.

I think with your setup you can go with a Racetronix fuel pump kit. I have heard many issues with the MSD 50 lb injectors locking up at high fuel pressure. I would think you could get away with running 42 lb injectors.

BTW where did you get a 13lb pulley? I thought ATI only sold 8, 12, and 15lb pulleys.

I agree, and I was also advised not to run anything over a 12psi pulley b/c of the way the p600 is geared.

i got the pulley right from ati...i also asked them..to what rpm can i turn the motor...i was told 6400 rpms..would be too much. it would over rev the supercharger.. i believe i can goto 6200 rpms..the pulley came in yesterday. i hope the tech i spoke to was correct about what rpm i can turn it at lol...i think in comparison the p1sc..has a higher step up ratio i think it turns faster than the p600.

A single in-tank Racetronix system is good for 550RWHP so 500FWHP is well within that range.

42lb injectors would be small given your target FWHP and max RPM. Consider 50's or larger as you must keep the DC below 80% especially with the LT1 PCM. A 1:1 FPR should be used.

Do you happen to know what size pulley they sent you? Whatver you do never trust ATI

This is the way you calculate your blower speed:

Diameter of crank pulley/Diameter of blower pulley * step-ratio *engine rpm = blower speed.

It is critical that this number does not exceed 60,000 rpm which is the redline for the P600b. The step ratio for a P600b is 3.05. The size of your crank pulley is either a 7.625 or 8.5 inches.

Sorry to get off the subject. Just trying to help someone avoid some of the problems I have had with ATI.
