P1SC Installed

I just finished my guages, fuel pump install and minor misc stuff tonight and started the car up. I really like the funny whining sound at about 1100 rpm. Too bad it's as loud as it is, it'll be hard to keep a secret. Ohwell, I guess who cares when you're so far ahead of the little Hondas that all they hear is their fart pipe. (I like to poke a little fun)
Anyways, everything seems ok:
motor pulls about 16 in. vaccuum
no funny sounds other than the blower whine
Seems like the computer is really working to re-learn my setup as it's been without power for about 4 months
My Auto Meter A/F Ratio guage sits pig rich most of the time but goes way lean (at idle) for several secs. then back rich
Too bad I jumped the gun and installed the blower without bleeding my brakes after relocating my traction control unit because now I found a leak in one of the couplers. :/

Hopefully the car will be back on the road here within a week or so.

Congrat on getting the blower done.

When we first installed my P1SC, it was kinda loud too. Then after 500 break in miles, I changed the oil, cleaned off the drain plug and it seemed Quieter. I talked to a few folks at ATI and they told me that most of the time, after the break in and first oil change, the P1SC does seem to quiet down a little.
Back when I had the 4.5# pullies, only true car guys could tell I had a blower on the car, most of the import wanna-bees could not tell there was a blower on the car. Now with the new pulley set up (see sig more more details) I am not fooling too many people anymore. Most Imports and even some Z28 and Mustangs would look at me and just pretend that I am not in the next lane (they dont want to play).

Thx,
Claude

Congrats!! I wish mine were louder!

Most people are so focused on my 11 inch rims and loud rumble, that I get a bunch of snotty aholes asking me why I have a boost gauge. lol.

The only thing I can tell you is to get it tuned with wideband on a chassis dyno- I was able to pick up some pretty decent power because of it.

This blower is more than capable for just about any street scenario, even down to the 9's.

I love the sound of my P-1SC. It is so obnoxiously loud
The look on everyones face when they hear me pull up is well worth it. When driving around it sounds like I am driving a big semi. Someone compared the sound to what an F-16 sounds like sitting on the flight deck of an air craft carrier I love it!

This biggest thing I will warn you about with a P1SC is leaky seals. Everyone that I know that has owned a P1SC has had their seals replaced at least once. ATI will not warrant it either. I think it cost around $250.00 if I can remember correctly. Other than that have fun with your blower.

Well,

I am planning on taking off the blower head this Sunday to fix that brake line leak and hope to be able to drive it this next week before it starts getting too cold to work on it. As long as I can get that taken care of I will be happy for the time being.
I am looking hard into getting set up with TunerCat/TTS DataMaster and a WBO2 such as the Innovate LM-1. Looks to be a decent deal as far as WB's go if it is as good as I hear. I also will look into a decent ignition (MSD 6-BTM, unless anybody has any better suggestions).
One thing I already know is that the kit setup for the blower tubing sucks, so I will be looking into custom fabbing my own tubing here and there.
I also hope to be getting rid of the traction control module and ABS, but first things first; I want to get the car to run as is and beat up on this '93 Supra that seems to be terrorizing the streets.

Wish me Luck!

hmm, when exactly would you see an F-16 on an aircraft carrier?

And FWIW, I head you mention in your other thread that you need the car to last a little before you can build a shortblock for it. If you want this motor to last at all, you need to invest is some good tuning apparatus ASAP! And even with the perfect tune it is still somewhat of a crapshoot... good luck

Yeah,

I think that I am going to get the LM-1 and TunerCat, along with the TTS Datamaster. Better way to go plus I will be able to use it for other things than just the Camaro.

Is it reccomended to do the Adjustable FPR at the same time as tehe tuning stuff? I am thinking about that AeroMotive regulator that is boost sensitive.

Let me know what you think!
