Oil Leak on Vortech - Blower guys help!!!

Ok - Here's the deal.....

I am finally finishing the stroker / blower project. I got it running and was in the process of tuning it when I noticed a small oil drip coming from the INTAKE side of the supercharger.

I bought this s-trim from another board member and it looked ok and seems to operate very well. I am questioning if the oil drain line is correct on the supercharger, it looks like it has hardly no fall to it.

My question is - Do I send off the blower to Vortech, have it re-built and re-sealed- just to have the same problem? or do I buy a supplemental pump for the drain line on the blower - it just seems to me like it is over-filling.

there is no oil leaking into the exhaust side of the blower, and it seems to be working great, it just dripps slightly out the intake side......

Thanks for the help

Paul

Do you know how many miles/hours have been on the blower before you got it? It might be your seals or bearings. My had about 80,000 miles before it started to leak a little. At about 90,000 miles I set my unit back to ATI to get the bearings and seals redone. I would ask the person that you got it from, because its much cheaper to get the unit redone before any major bearing failer.

lol I bought mine with "1500" miles on it. Don't know how true that is, but the damn oil drain is very tricky. The best I could get it was about ~level so I am presuming that's okay... better than having a dip.

As for the seals, I may replace mine too soon. A friend of mine told me the seals are very easy to change. Buy them from vortech and install them yourself.
