Oil leak at P600b head unit from oil supply?

I have a very small leak(just enough to run down the unit and dirty things up). What would be a way to fix that? Instructions say not to use anything(ie tape or sealant) on the oil mister.

Thanks, Mike.

Re: Oil leak at P600b head unit from oil supply?

The p600b has a pressurized oil line in and a drain line back to the pan . If there is oil leaking from anywhere else from the head unit, it may mean a seal or bearing inside the unit is going and the only way I know of to fix it is to send it back to ATI for servicing. I recently threw a belt and a couple of small pieces of belt blew out the seal on the pulley. Problem didn't show up right away, but after a while the charger started making a sutble but different noise. It still made boost, but something was wrong as I noticed a tiny bit of oil from around the pulley. According to ATI, I shut it down just in time as it was getting close to messing up the unit. Still cost close to $500 to get it fixed (new seals ,bearings and a good going over). Anyway, they will look at it and if nothing is wrong they only charge something like $75. Worth it to me. BTW turn around time for this for me was 2 weeks. Hope this helps - good luck

It is leaking right at the hole the oil mister screws into. It is just getting around the threads. I might put a dab of rtv on them. Should be fine but we will see.

I can't believe it cost that much to fix. I doubt anything was wrong with yours. Mine was leaking out of there too when I first put it on. I bought a replacement seal from Napa and replaced it myself for less than 10 bucks. The worst thing that could have happened in your case was the unit throwing oil everywhere. You probably would have smelled it in time before the engine ran low. Regardless, at least peace of mind is yours. Thanks for the help.
