NEWBE STS Turbo Question

This winter my Engine is comming out and going to a machine shop..

Im doing a .30 over

Forged Pistons 8.5.1 (sound about Right?)

Forged Rods and Polished Crank

When I get the Engine Running, I wanna do the STS Turbo with methanol/Water Injection..

We seen The post of 520rwhp 620rwtq What else Am I going to need to see these numbers safe?

On daily Driving Boost what type of Power can I Expect.

How long will this Engine last with Quality parts and not pushing it passed it limits? I just dont wanna buy something and not be able to have fun in it rather then Driving it

Should I just do heads cam and 100 shot for the same price..

I liked the idea of decent gas milage on low boost.. Thats why im leaning towards this set up

Your best bet is to talk to the makers of this system in person. Not many people have this kit on their car since it is fairly new.
Try www.ststurbo.com Good luck.

The turbo is more permanate power than the nitrous of course. The NA setup would definately have more brute force power over the turbo. I dont agree with their setup at all, but they seem to be having good results with it, and its cheap so hey, why not.

To acheive the power they made they had 8.7:1 pistons (8.5 will work nicely too), ls1 rods (guess they had some custom work done to make them fit). You can get forged H beam rods for about $50 to $80/each from eagle. I beam are way cheaper than that, I believe. They also had 1.6 roller rockers and a MSD ignition box to retard timing.

If you are interested in going the extra step there are places you can get pre-balanced pistons/crank/rods all in one little kit. Search around in the lt1 tech forum...

You can permanately leave the car setup to run 14psi and drive around like that and make as much power as they advertise. I think some guy was hitting 350rwhp and 390tq on 5psi after just bolting on their base kit onto his stock motor.
