I dont know if the GTQ inducer is larger than Innovative's R-trim inducer, but i do know they aren't the same wheel.
I remember @ PTEs EFI meeting this year that when using the GTQ wheel it required more machining to normal Garret exhaust housings because of its length in size. As you can see in my link the GTQ is much lager in length than a normal turbine wheel
Larnach so far the intercooler setup will be an air to water with heat exchanger. I have not talked to Greg about an Air to Air setup.
89ProchargedROC, I have understood that the GTQ is a tad larger then the R-trim, but like you said the compressor turbine on the 80 is a little larger then the 76. So hp would probably be very close....
BTW, proturbo now has most of the Kit pictures on their homepage now.

I wonder if ProTurbo is planning an LT1 Y-body kit?
Would a kit like this be good for a daily driven street car? I have intake, headers, and exhaust now. What turbo head unit would work with this kit to give me a good gain but still be safe for my 70K mile stock engine?? What kind of boost level would be safe for me? I have a 93 Z28 LT1 automatic.
With the top of the line turbo.. what type of horse power are we talking to the rear wheels? Any Guesses? And of course it would be a built motor... But Think you could still pull it off as being streetable? I am set to jump on the band wagon and get a Dart block. But I see this as a alternative!
Clubbin, yes the kit is a street kit, so it was built with daily driving in mind. As for what unit to use, I would talk to PTK, but I think a PTE64 woyuld work well. As for boost, I would set it around 7-9psi at most. Even with all the precautions, its a roll of the dice on how long the motor will survive.
BillyBob, the kit with the largest turbo they offer would probably be good for right at 1000rwhp, but its hard to tell until its really pushed. I don't really see any bottlenecks in the kit so far. If anything were to become a restriction in the high boost levels, it would probably be the downpipe, but then again the mustang guys have run low 9's with a 3" DP, so who knows... Streetability, well that will depend on the cam you use and other components. The turbo will really not effect driveability at all. We have the advantage of cubic inches.

Does this kit require the use of a tubular K member? And if one were used could a larger downpipe be fitted?
How far back does the exhaust run with it, far enough to hook up your favorite cat back?
Bill

Bill, you can see in the pictures you can see the length of the downpipe. I'm not sure how far it would go and if it indeed connects to a stock cat-back, but I will find out for sure tomm. As for the tubular K-member, well the kit is offered in 2 ways. One for the stock K-member and the 2nd for an aftermarket K-member. I know they are working on possibly a 3.5" DP, but for right now a 3" is what is offered with the kit.

Hey Bill, I spoke with Greg and the street kit was built on a stock car mating it to the stock exhaust, so yes it will mate up with stock exhaust piping or other catbacks of stock location.
