new track results

just posting some results with my mods. i hadnt been to the track in almost a year so i was really itching to go. i didnt really change anything since the las time so i wasnt expecting any better times than before. i started out with a 12.4@ 115. i had a good launch with a 60' that was around 2 flat. i went right back in the staging lanes and waited a good 45 minutes because the place was packed. it was getting later at night and was starting to cool down. probably 65 degrees out. i did a little burn out to clean off the tires and started to stage. got my best 60' yet of 1.94 and ran the quarter in 12.2 @ 117.6 (new best MPH) with that MPH i was getting psyched for the next run, hoping to break my 12.1 but i ended up breaking something else. my next run started off good, but as soon as i hit second gear something didnt feel right. the engine felt choppy, like a missfire. i took it easy by not banging the gears as hard and ran a 14.0 @ 101. the car definitely has a misfire now and feels like its only one cylinder thats bad. i am hoping that its just a plug or something easy. i dont think its anything internal yet because its not blowing smoke or making any funny noises such as clanking or clicking.

summary:

12.4@ 115
12.2@ 117.5
14.0@ 101 with a missfire now

mods:

procharger @ 8 lbs, 3 core intercooler, 42lb svo injectors, bbk headers, bbk throttle body, borla catback, delteq, obd I conversion, bmr torque arm

Hopefully its something simple and not a broken ring land or burnt valve. Good times.

Re: new track results

well i would think a broken ring land would have more symptoms than running choppy

Thumbs up Re: new track results

Nice! I think might be bad though... broken ringland could definitely be possible.

well im in the same boat too........ just limped the car back home from the track aparently when you launch on ET streets the stock torque arm wont hold up LOL!!! ripped the top portion off where it bolts to the top of the rear end (moser 12 bolt with 4.11s)

anyways back to you ummm so when you gonna trouble shoot this beast? im really trying to learn as much as i possible can about forced induction even the blow ups helps to give me reality

Re: new track results

so far i have just checked to make sure all the spark plug wires were still on. this weekend i will be pulling the plugs and seeing how they look. if they look fine i will be doing a compression test. it should be interesting to see how i am going to be getting the compression tester hooked up to some of the cylinders, such as #7. the header tube curles right around it. its hard enough just getting the boot on the plug!
