New best

Well I have good and bad news ( good the car is making power now that I found the boost leak (Bad I'm about out of injector and I'm definitly out of gear) The 3950 pound TA went went 10.01@137.15 spinning dammit! just a little hook would have been a 9. I was also at my rev limit the last 3 seconds of the pass so I have 28 inch slicks being installed on my rims now that should give me a few more mile an hour. I was running 27 inch QTP's I couldn't get them to hook. I'm going to run the 75# injectors a little harder than I like for a while I guess I need to buy some big boys!

Re: New best

I'm really not sure. last year I saw 18#s on the Gauge during a pass. I tuned it on the dyno not long after and saw 15#s I thought maybe it was because the dyno didn't provide enough load to build boost. I took it to the track again and saw only 15#s that is when I knew I had a boost leak. Well I found it and fixed it last week so the one time I looked at the gauge this weekend I saw 18#s but that was not at my highest RPM so it I'm thinking its making more like 20#s now. I kept throwing more fuel at it and every time it went faster now my injectors are near 90% with a base fuel pressure of 52#s like I said higher than I like but probably ok for now the cold air in the fall may be to much for the 75s. This was also with a 100 wet shot with rich fuel jets sorry I didn't mention that before it slipped my mind. Hey does anybody want to go for a ride and watch the boost gauge

ME ME ME!!! Pick me!! Pick meeeeee!!!! I'd dive head-first into your car for a ride if you weren't 8 hours away.

Great times man, keep tinkering with it and you'll get that elusive 9 second slip soon.

Re: New best

My 60 FT was a 1.52 but that is misleading as the initial shock of the tires hooked and brought up the wheels then they quikly dropped and the rears spun until I hit second. I guess the initial hook was enough to jump the car out of the hole. A good sixty for me on the foot brake is a low 1.4. I hope to get in the 1.3s on the T-brake.

Re: New best

Just curious if you did a pass on the same day or at least same setup w/o the spray?

Re: New best

the best pass I had with a similar set up was 10.32@132.5 last year in the fall. I did make one pass the day before 10.58@129.8 but the car was very lean I probably could have reproduced a 10.3 or better after adding fuel and if I could hook up.

Re: New best

I don't understand how someone can run a 10.0 at 137 "spinning" when I've run 10.40 at 133 on a dead hook (1.52 60'). I've since run 10.8 at 134 on a 1.8 60' "spinning".

Re: New best

Well it was spinning I would be happy to show you the video once I get it converted to MPEG. I said before that A good 60 for me on the foot brake is a low 1.4. I wasn't fully hooked up until I hit second gear which does happen pretty quickly. The car also would trap higher MPH with bigger tires as I was out of gear, if this is abnormal I guess the time was made up in the middle of the run.

Re: New best

Looks good Jeff,
You know there is still more in it as you should be able to pull those same times without the bottle.

If you are out of gear I would suspect the converter is slipping excessively, possibly slowing the car down.

What is your t-brake stall?
What is your rev limiter set at?

You should be spinning 6500 or so at the end with about 700 rpm slippage giving you approx 137mph. Am I close? That mph is good enough to crack the nines for sure.

Glad you got it sorted out.
