Need opinions on fans for 95 formula lt1

I have a becool radiator in my car.The car stays cool for the most part as long as I am moving. If I stop in traffic though, my temps start to climb rather quickly.

Has anyone replaced the stock fans and or fan shroud on a 93 and up fbody? Does anyone know what the stock fans flow and what size they are?

If the upgrade to better fans was reasonable, I would consider getting a pair.

Thanks,

Steve

I'm running a Spal Dual 11" fan setup. Comes with its own shroud/housing also. Fits good and moves alot of air. You can check out "spalusa.com" Also, take a look at "zirgo.com". Some of those fans also move alot of air.

What temps are you seeing? Boosted cars will run more hot compared to when you were N/A.

Yesterday when it was around 95-100 degrees, I was out railing on my Z, and saw about 200 on the temp gage. This is about the hottest I see it and I am still running the stock radiator and fans. If it got much hotter than that I would probably consider upping the radiator or fans. However, if you are at this temp or below, I wouldn't worry about it.

BTW, normally even on a warm day (75-80) I only see temps get to about 185 or so.

It has gotten upto 210 degrees. and that wasnt on one of the hottest days.

We are having a very hot day today 92..very muggy..may get upto 95 degrees.

This is probably one of the hottest days we'll see.. The fluid isnt boiling over or anything....but it did recently when the fuse blew to the fans heh....

I dont have the ram air hood or anything and the car is black. It just feels like an oven.

I just figured a set of new fans...ones that could possibly drop right in..would help it alot when I am in traffic. Once im going, its fine...

Thanks,

Steve

Stock fans here but I'm running a fan switch. Maybe you should try that 1st and see what happens. I just threw in a fluidyne radiator too which is a tad beefier than the stock rad.

There's a few simple things that can also help that don't include switching to an aftermarket radiator or fan setup.

1. Try bypassing your TB. Unless you drive your car in sub-zero temperatures this is a good idea to do reguardless.

2. Upgrade to a 160 thermostat.

3. Have your car tuned to have the fans switch on at a cooler temperature (or you can buy a fan switch as ZBLKHELRZR mentioned).

If you don't already have these things done, they can make some substantial differences.

Does anyone have a model number and cost of the spal setup?

Where can I buy them?

Thanks,

Steve

All of those 3 things are already done.

Does anyone know if the shroud that comes with the SPAL setup fits right on or if you need to custom fab something for it to fit? Also is it as deep as the stock shroud? We had issues with the becool radiator and stock shroud hitting the drive belts because the radiator pushed it back further.
