Need Help! Custom solid intake tube for vortech?

Hello,

I am new to the supercharged section of the board, but I need some help.

I just bought a s-trim I am installing, I do not like the "dryer hose" and did a search and it looks like most of you guys are running a solid intake tube.

Could you guys help me out and give me some Ideas on which works the best. Some pisc on how it's routed and put together. I really need the help and I appreciate it!

Is there anyone out there who makes them that I could buy?

Thanks!

Paul

Do a search in the for sale section. I am pretty sure I have seen one for sale a few weeks back.

If you decide to make your own, check out this site for products and ideas. They have plenty under intake tubing and rubber elbows to make up a nice set-up.

well....

I did a search in the for sale section and I found a "brad Brand" one and I don't know how I missed it when I searched it yesterday.

My question is - the guy wants 200.00 + shipping for it - this seems a little high, is it worth it, or should I settle for some "custom" pvc pipe or exhaust pipe?

Any help is appreciated.

This is what I used for my ATI Pisc blower. I dont know if it will work on a Vortec blower cuz I have not see the set up but it might give you some ideas.

Visit any of your local truck muffler shops and they can build you one. Shops that work on 18 wheelers or do exhaust work on them will have no problem mandrel bending you some piping for cheap, take my word for it.

99 Silver t/a -

I really like that set-up because it's so simple, I have only two questions - What did you do with your maf sensor? and what about a connector for a bypass valve?

Thanks

Damn they are fat.. from the 5 to the 9 key??

Anyways.. the MAF Can be relocated up top...

When you have it up top no need for a bypass to go down.

So let me understand this:

I can re-locate the maf to say inbetween the alum. intake elbow and the plastic elbow on top, then I could do away with all that bypass valve crap? That would be great.

Let me know.

One page 3 of my website
http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/membe...=342629&page=3

You will see where I relocated the Maf to. I noticed a lot less surging when the maf was moved to the pressure side, plus it is out of element since its not under the car with partially exposed wires.

Also, I am getting 8-10# of boost (depending on Weather conditions) with a P1SC and a 15# pulley for a stock Lt1 and only shifting at 5900 rpms. I was told that is extremely good, especially since I dont have a D1 blower and I am using the ATI Air filter not the bigger 9-11 inch filter mod most folks do to increase boost and my motor consists of stock heads, a CC305 cam, LT headers, a 383 with almost 9:1 compression, a 2 core intercooler and a Wide open plate on my Borla Cat back. So I dont think it poses a restriction.

Hope that helps,
Claude
