Which MSD Ignition For Boost?

I've got a stock motor that I'm getting ready to add an ATI P600b intercooled S/C to and need an MSD. I already have a blaster coil. Just looking for the ignition system itself? Thanks in advance.

I am using the 6AL, which seems to work fine.

The best way to supercharge is to have the computer reprogrammed while the car is on a dyno. Next best is a mail order program, verified on a local dyno. If you're going to run a stock motor and just bolt on the blower, you'll need a ignition system that you can manually take out timing under boost. You'll need the boost timing retard module that MSD sells; Crane also makes an ignition with a boost retard module.

I have had problems with the MSD BTM setup that has both the 6AL and BTM built in one box. Mine went out twice, I then got a 6AL and BTM in two seperate setups(hope that makes sence), and have not had a problem in about four years. So my recommendation is run a sperate MSD6AL and MSD BTM and you should be good. It also costs about $500-550 if I remember right. Good Luck

The linear relationship between retard and boost provided by the BTM or equivalent boxes from other manufacturers is a terrible way to adjust timing for boost. The ideal setup in that regard is an aftermarket ECU which can use a 2 or 3-bar MAP sensor. There are other issues with an aftermarket system though, and it certainly isn't needed for a stock motor with a blower. The best all-around solution for that kind of a setup is PCM tuning. An aftermarket CD ignition box is still a good idea because you need a stronger spark with boost. However, with a max of 6psi on a stock motor (more is a very bad idea) you could probably just use the stock ignition along with non-platinum plugs.
