Motors rebuilt, have a few questions..

Everything is running pretty well, 355 with some forged parts, stock injectors, P1SC, 8.5:1 comp.

I'm having surging issues with the idle. It's going from a stall to about 1300 rpm. Up and down. It only happens when the car is warm. Someone told me to have the crank sensor reset at my chevy dealer. Apparently there is no sensor reprogram on the tech2 tool for a '95. What can I look into? The cam is still stock as well.

My only other question is about break in. How many miles should I put on my car before I can hammer it? My guy told me not to really get into the boost until 500 miles or so. Is that good?

500 miles should suffice. It really depends on how tight you had all your tolerances set up, and how your clearances are, bearings, rings, and so forth..... just vary your rpms, and try to keep the engine under varying loads, but never too heavy at first

I don't think '95s have the crank sensor. Maybe I'm just senile...

They don't. Only the OBD2 LT1 cars have them (96-97)

I've got the same surging problem on mine. It seems like the car wants to go slightly lean at idle when it's hot and then the computer over compensates and nearly stalls the car out (some times it actually does). I just haven't had a chance to fix it yet, but you may be having the same problem.

What about sending the computer out? Seems like we might have a program problem.

Sounds like an IAC issue or like you've got a vacuum leak to me. Have you tried cleaning the TB and IAC? No codes?

The only code the car is throwing is for the air pump which fell off.

No, I haven't replaced it yet. I think that'll be the 1st step.
