Monoblade thottlebodies
Re: Monoblade thottlebodies
You would probably notice some WOT gains on your Vortech car at 15 PSI.
Alot of people say you definatly loose low end running a Monoblade ...
But if you already have a 58MM I see no reason to upgrade. If you DONT have a 58MM yet though, then I could see maybe buying the monoblade. Not alot of people are running them so trying to find anything out about them can be a little tricky

I have a D1SC, 383, with AFR heads and I have a Monoblade if that matters.
I'll let you guys know how everything goes when we take it to the dyno.
Re: Monoblade thottlebodies
My monoblade will stick open when the motor sees over 10 psi
Re: Monoblade thottlebodies
^ Thats kinda common with them apparently. I was thinking of buying one off of Alvin from PCM4less, and he told me that, it too, flares when shifted at WOT. Enough to be a little scary I would think.
FWIW, the end goal I am shooting for with my car ( Once I get a stroker/blower combo goin ) is going to be either a 58MM or monoblade. I wont buy a monoblade new because the price is kind of hard to justify without seeing someone else do a before and after. But if I come across one used, you can bet I am going to jump on it.
People have claimed to loose low end TQ with them, but I take it for what it is ... Their two completely differnet throttle body designs, so to drive, it may very well feel like you have to press the pedal further to open it the same amount as the twin 58's or something. And dynoes only tell half the story. Itll show you gains across the board at WOT, so they very well may feel "different" to drive. In reality though, your talking about putting it on a V8 BLOWER car. Its already going to be making more than enough low end TQ, and if you notice a difference, really, is it going to hurt you at that point? For what you may gain on the top end, I say its worth it if you get one at a good price, and go for it. Just be carefull with the sprigns nad ****.
