methanol injection or intercooler

I have a paxton supercharged 1989 iroc with an injection system that i put washer fluid in. is this more effective than an intercooler to cool the air. Is this to prevent detonation? or just to increase hp. should i look into buying an intercooler?

Re: methanol injection or intercooler

Meth injection is to help stop detonation, it does also provide a small power increase from the cooling effect of the fine alcohol mist evaporating in the intake stream. As far as I can tell, the only 2 disadvantages of meth injection are
1: Doesn't provide any cooling effect when at lower boost
2: You have to be diligent with system maintenance because it can be difficult to know when the system is malfunctioning and engine damage can happen very quickly if the system is not operating properly.

I would ask Rich Krause the specifics of meth injection, He's making somewhere around 1000 RWHP with meth injection on his car.
