I don't think your fmu is functioning properly. You should not get 75 psi at that setting. At 1 3/4 turns and 5 psi you should only get about 50 psi. At one turn and 9 psi I only get 65 psi.

When my intank pump failed I did not have an inline(I do now)so I don't know how the engine would react in your case but it doesn't sound like the fuel pump.

Can you put your stock regulator back on and pull the fmu and see if it fixes problem? Also you might check and see if your have a boost leak(hose might have popped off). That would cause it to be rich as hell at full throttle. Mine still runs with a boost leak but when the bypass closes it stumbles and pops and I can only run it at light throttle.

Its pretty sad to say but I've had all these problems. I've owned my 97 since the day it rolled off the showroom floor.

I just got back in from checking the fuel pressure...

the stock intank is still pumping out 42psi...
and the inline fuel pump is working aswell ...... car will run for a few seconds then die

...unhooked the FMU .... car still runs for a few seconds then dies..

........*thinking*

Have you checked the hose that goes to the MAF for leaks?

Re: This is making me crazy...help me figure it out

I had a problem with my car that I thought was ignition related and it ended up being the head gaskets. Taking off in first at low rpm it had a stumble not really a miss. Then it would pull fine after 2k or so begin to miss in the higher RPM's. It finally let go and the #2, #8 and #1 cylinders was leaking into the water jackets.

Just a thought. Maybe you could do a leak down test just to be sure. If the leak down test is fine then I would lean towards the opti.

16 - OptiSpark low resolution pulse not found
36 - OptiSpark high resolution signal faulty

the other three I dont understand.......

41 - Ignition control circuit, open
42 - Ignition control circuit, short or grounded
51 - EEPROM program error
